Remembrance Sports Series
Nottinghamshire Police Headquarters
On Saturday 9th November 2024, members of the UK's Police and Armed Forces communities came together at Nottinghamshire Police Headquarters for a series of adaptive sports matches for Remembrance.
PUKDS is committed to supporting the Armed Forces community and is a signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant, as well as the PUKDS board of directors, a large number of full and affiliate members come from an Armed Forces background, many of whom have been medically discharged and are using adaptive sport as a form of treatment, rehabilitation and recovery.
Remembrance is not just something we do once a year, but all year round, remembering loved ones, family, friends and colleagues, that have been injured or have made the ultimate sacrifice for all of us.
Mixed teams competed in wheelchair rugby and wheelchair basketball over the day, being supported by Nottinghamshire Police officers and cadets, a moment of silence was observed at 11 am with the Royal British Legion in attendance.
This was the first Remembrance event and we will continue to host these events for as long as we are able.
If you would like to participate in next years event or you would like to come and support those taking part, please head over to our events calendar for dates.
